Session Topic and Provider Matching Policy

This article is intended for:

đŸ‘€ Members (Employees)

When you book a therapy or coaching session, you will be asked to select the topic that best describes what you would like support with. This information helps your Provider understand your needs and prepare for your session.

Choose the Topic That Best Matches Your Needs

Please select the topic that most closely reflects the main reason you are seeking support.

For example, if you select Emotional Regulation, your Provider will expect the session to focus on managing and responding to emotions and may prepare accordingly.

Your session does not need to follow the selected topic word-for-word. It is normal for conversations to naturally touch on related concerns or for your discussion to develop as the session progresses.

However, if the main focus of your session is substantially different from the topic you selected when booking, your Provider may determine that another Provider would be better suited to support you.

If Your Needs Do Not Match the Selected Topic

If your Provider identifies a significant mismatch between the selected topic and what you would like to discuss, they will generally make reasonable efforts to continue and complete the session.

Depending on the circumstances, your Provider may:

  • Continue the session if they are able to appropriately support your needs.

  • Discuss the mismatch with you and recommend a different Provider who has more relevant expertise.

  • Refer you to another Provider for future sessions if they believe this would provide you with more appropriate support.

Please note that choosing a session topic that does not match the support you ultimately need does not constitute grounds for a refund.

For more information about when a session may be eligible for a refund, please refer to our Session Charges and Refund Policy for Members.

Choosing the Right Topic

If you are unsure which topic to select when booking, choose the option that best describes the main concern you would like to work on during the session. You are also encouraged to add comments when booking your session to give your Provider more context about what you would like to discuss. This can help your Provider better understand your needs and prepare for the session.

If your needs change after booking, you can discuss this by messaging your Provider before the session or letting them know at the start of the session. Your Provider will work with you to determine the most appropriate way to proceed.
