Breathe Exercises

Practice breathing techniques to calm your mind and relax

Updated over 8 months ago

Breathe exercises are currently only available on the Mobile App.

Deep breathing techniques help calm the mind and reduce stress by activating the body's relaxation response. This can lead to improved mental clarity, enhanced focus, and a greater sense of overall wellbeing. These exercises promote present-moment awareness, allowing individuals to cultivate a more centered and grounded state of mind. Regular practice of these exercises can also enhance self-awareness, increase emotional regulation, and provide a valuable tool for managing anxiety and other challenging emotions.

How it works

  1. Access the Breathe exercises from the top of the Explore tab

  2. Pick a breathing technique and duration

  3. Use your phone’s vibrations as physical cues to know when to breathe in, breathe out and hold. You can choose to close your eyes or keep them open, whichever is the most comfortable for you

  4. Switch the background sound according to how you’re feeling by swiping left or right on the screen

For Android users

If you are using an Android device, we strongly recommend that you toggle battery optimization off for the Breathe exercise to run properly when your screen is turned off and for your minutes to be recorded accurately once the exercise has ended. Please refer to [Android only] Breathe, Focus, Guided Audio session not playing or recording properly for more information.

📝 Note:

During a Breathe exercise, if you minimize the app, the exercise will be interrupted and you will need to restart the exercise. This is because we want you to pay full attention during the exercise, so you can easily enter a state of relaxation and mindfulness.

Turning your device screen off when you are on the screen will not affect the exercise.
