If you’re planning to switch phone numbers, we recommend removing your current Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) number before you lose access to it. This helps prevent situations where you’re unable to receive verification codes and get locked out of your account.
To change your phone number
You’ll first need to remove your existing number:
Click on Remove
Verify it's you by logging in to your account
Confirm the removal
Once your current number has been removed, you can add your new number by following the steps in this article: Setting up MFA - Phone number authentication
If you’ve already changed your number
If you no longer have access to your current number and can’t log in, use one of your recovery codes to regain access to your account
If you don’t have your recovery codes, refer to: Recovering access if you can’t use multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Once you’ve regained access to your account, please update your phone number as soon as possible to avoid getting locked out again.
