Check Your Tech Setup

Allowing camera and microphone permissions, and checking your connection

Updated over 7 months ago

Virtual sessions take place on a secure video call platform. You can join the session before it starts to check that your camera, microphone, speakers, and internet connection are working properly, ensuring a smooth experience.

  1. On the Care Team tab (available on both Web and Mobile Apps) or the Home page of the Web App, scroll to the session details

  2. Click on Join session

  3. On the new tab that has opened up, allow access to your camera and microphone

If you've accidentally blocked access, click the icon to the left of the URL to grant access, then reload the page.

  4. Select the source for your camera, microphone, and speakers. You can also update the name displayed during the video call

  5. Click the gear icon at the top-right corner of the video feed to open the Settings popup. Here, you can test your speakers, adjust other settings, and check your connection strength.

πŸ“ Note:

  • Clicking on the Join button on the video preview page will bring you to a waiting room. You'll only be able to enter once your Provider is in the call.

  • On the Mobile App, you may be asked to turn on push notifications to be able to join sessions

  • If you're connected to your organization's VPN, we recommend disconnecting from it before joining a session, as its security measures may hinder the video call connection
